Studio Savior Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Elwell Automation Consulting LLC ("EAC") handles information associated with Studio Savior and its website, account, licensing, billing, email, update, and download services.
1. The most important point: PLC logic stays local
L5X parsing, cross-reference analysis, tracing, and unused-tag analysis are designed to run locally on your computer. EAC's account API does not provide an L5X-upload endpoint for normal product operation.
2. Information we collect
When you create or use a Studio Savior account, we may process your email address; a securely hashed form of your password; a randomly generated installation/device identifier; account tier and subscription status; email-verification status; session and one-time-token records; entitlement/licensing information; and timestamps associated with account and device activity.
For paid subscriptions, we receive billing-related identifiers and subscription status from Stripe, such as Stripe customer/subscription identifiers and payment-event status. EAC does not need your full payment-card number to operate Studio Savior billing.
Our services may process limited technical request information necessary for security, rate limiting, delivery, troubleshooting, and ordinary server operation, such as network addresses, request metadata, and user-agent information. The current account service uses network-address information for rate limiting; it is not used to inspect PLC logic.
3. Website information
The public EAC/Studio Savior website does not currently require an account merely to browse product information or download the installer. If analytics, advertising, or additional tracking technologies are introduced later, this policy will be updated as appropriate.
4. How we use information
We use service information to create and secure accounts; verify email addresses; authenticate users; issue and validate entitlements; provide Free and Pro functionality; process and manage subscriptions; send transactional account emails; provide password recovery; distribute software and updates; prevent abuse; troubleshoot services; and comply with legal obligations.
5. Service providers
We use service providers to operate parts of Studio Savior. These currently include Stripe for payment processing and subscription management, Resend for transactional email, GitHub for public release-file distribution, and cloud infrastructure used to host EAC's production account/licensing API. These providers process information according to their own terms and privacy practices and only receive information relevant to the services they provide.
6. Data sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information to service providers acting on our behalf, when required by law or valid legal process, to protect rights or security, or as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of relevant business assets subject to appropriate protections.
7. Retention and security
We retain account and service information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide Studio Savior, maintain business and security records, resolve disputes, and satisfy legal obligations. We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no system can guarantee absolute security.
8. Your choices
You can cancel a Pro subscription through the billing portal. You may contact EAC regarding access, correction, or deletion requests for account information. Some records may be retained where required for security, billing, tax, legal, or legitimate business purposes.
9. Children
Studio Savior is a professional engineering tool and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly seek personal information from children under 13.
10. U.S. operation and changes
EAC is based in Washington, United States, and Studio Savior services are operated for a U.S.-based business. We may update this policy as the product, providers, or legal requirements change. The effective date above identifies the current version.
11. Contact
Privacy questions or requests may be sent to brandon@elwellautomation.com.
Feedback and Support Information
If you choose to submit feedback through Studio Savior, we collect the information you voluntarily provide in the feedback form, such as the feedback type, application area, title, description, and whether you permit EAC to contact you about the submission.
Studio Savior also includes limited application metadata with a feedback submission so EAC can understand and troubleshoot the report. This may include the Studio Savior application version, your Free or Pro tier, an installation/device identifier used by Studio Savior licensing, and the submission timestamp.
Submitting feedback does not automatically upload your L5X file, PLC logic, rung text, tag names, AOI names, controller names, project or file names, or local file paths. If EAC ever requests project-specific diagnostic material to investigate an issue, you may choose whether to provide it separately.
Feedback submissions are stored in Studio Savior's service systems and may generate an email notification to EAC so the submission can be reviewed. If you authorize follow-up, your Studio Savior account email may be used to contact you about that feedback. If you do not authorize follow-up, the feedback notification does not include your account email for that purpose.
